Although
Islam is not remotely related to terrorism in any manner, the fair face of
Islam has been tarnished by the stain of terrorismowing to heinous, anti-human
and barbarous attacks carried out in the name of Islam by the Wahhabi Salafibrainwashed ‘workforce’. Now these
sectarian, extremist and terrorist Wahhabi Salafi outfits like Al Qaida, ISIS,
Taliban,Laskar-e-Taiba, Jamaat-ud-Dawaetchave grown into Frankenstein monsters
and by committing atrociously evil, and monstrous crimes,
they are spreading mischief and strife across the globe.
An in-depth study of the Qur’an and
Hadith proves that Islam is a religion of peace, love and harmony. The sanctity
of human life, honour and property and its protection occupies a fundamental
place in Islamic law. Scores of Qur’anicverses and Prophetic traditions have
proved that themassacre of Muslims as well as Non-Muslims is unlawful and blasphemous
acts in Islam and in some cases, it amounts to Infidelity.Islam attaches so much importance to the
sanctity of human life that it regards killing of a single person as killing of an entire humanity.Al Quran says, “ Whoever kills a human being except in lieu of killing
or causing turmoil in the earth, so it shall be as if he had killed all
mankind, and whoever saves the life of one person, is as if he had saved the
life of all mankind” [ Surah Maidah – Surah No 5 – Verse No 32]. The Holy
Prophet said, “A
Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands” [
SahihBukhari–The Book Of Belief – Volume 1- Hadeeth No 10]. Islam does not allow the use of violence against and Non-Muslims too
under any circumstances.Somepeople asked The Holy Prophet ,
"Whose Islam is the best (i.e., who is a very good Muslim)?" He
replied, "One who avoids harming the mankind with his tongue and hands "
[ Hakim – Mustadrak – Volume 1 – Page No 64 – Hadeeth No 23]. The importance Islam lays on the sanctity anddignity of human life can
be gauged from the fact thatIslam does not allow indiscriminate killing even
when Muslim armies are engaged in war against enemytroops. The killing of
children, women, the old, infirm, religious leaders traders and surrenderersis
strictly prohibited. Likewise, places of worship, buildings, crops and even
treescannot be destroyed.
But it
is a pity that the ringleaders and the chieftains of terrorism defy the
commands of Shariah and make indiscriminate killings to be their routine
affair. They make suicide attacks and blast bombs on mosques, shrines,
educational institutions, governmental buildings, trade centres, markets,
security installations, and other public places. These people justify their
actions of killing innocent people in the name of Islam. As these perpetrators of
heinous, anti-human and barbarous acts of violence practice of Islamic rituals,
perform acts of worship and put on outward forms set down in Sharia, some people
consider Islam and Muslims to be somehow synonymous with terrorism. This is
totally wrong. These terrorists have no connection with Islam. Some Wahhabi
Scholars try to justify the inhuman acts of terrorists saying that their
intention is good and motive is pious. This is absolutely nonsense. For
example, TheQur’an rejected as disbelief the idol-worship that wascarried out
with the intention of attaining thenearness of Allah. When the idolaters of
Makka were asked the reason foridol-worship, they said the idols would bring
them intoAllah’s proximity. The intention to attain Allah’snearness is good,
but idol-worship is blasphemy anddisbelief. Idolatry, therefore, cannot be
justifiedbecause of good intention.
Similarly,
the terrorists’ claim of reformation toocannot be accepted because, through
their actions, they demonstrate bloodshed and violence instead ofconstructive
work and reformation.
Modern-day
terrorists are the continuation of Khawarij, those out of fold of Islam, who
got intellectually nurtured during the Caliphate of Hazrat Usman Ghani and got
organized during the Caliphate of Hazrat
Ali. Their slogan was that they wanted to impose the Divine Order, remove
polytheism, and innovation from the world. They declaredHazrat Ali as
disbeliever and fought against him. They would shed the human blood as water. The
Holy Prophet said that these extremists
would continue to come in different forms till the Day of Judgment. This
Khawarij movement is underway even today. Their last
group would join Dajjal during the last days.Hadeethes from SahihBukhari andSahih
Muslim state that the Holy Prophet said that terrorists would be younger in age
and would be brainwashed. It would be easier to provoke them into violent
action in the name of Paradise, Jihad and infidelity. The Holy Prophet said
that these people should be eliminated in such a manner as the Nations of Aad
and Samood were destroyed. These are the people who have nothing to do with
Islam.
However,
the role of Media, particularly the Western Media, in this regard is not fair
at all. They highlight the incidents of terrorism and extremismbut do not
highlight the abhorrence, condemnation and opposition prevalent within Muslim
communities towards extremists, militants and terrorists. Last year at Bareilly
nearly 70,000 Sunniclerics
from across the globe passed a fatwa against terrorist organizations, including
IS, Taliban and al-Qaidaadding that the members of these outfits were "not
Muslims". Around 15 lakh Muslims supported this fatwa against terrorism. Islamic
Scholars also announced that if a man involved in terrorism is killed,
"namaz-e-janaza" would not be read during his funeral services. But
the Western Media did not highlight this overwhelming fatwa against terrorism.
Again Sunni Clerics passed fatwa against notorious terrorist Hafiz Saeed, the chief of
Jamaat-ud-Dawa, declaring, he is “not a Muslim” and “it is forbidden to keep
any form of ties with him, including greet, meet, have food with him and
reading his namaz-e-janaza after his death”. the Western Media did not
highlight this fatwa too. The madrassa run by theAalaHazrat shrine recently
introduced a specialization within the Hadith course, titled 'Islam and
terrorism', for graduate students. As part of the coursework, students compare
the original Quran text with translations offered by terrorist groups, to
understand how religious texts are misinterpreted by the terrorists to mislead
Muslim youths .
. Time has come that
the terrorist networks and organizations need to be eliminated with iron hand.
But before that, the governments, at the outset, have to remove all factors and
stimuli that create and spread the plague named terrorism. May each and all
comprehend Islam’s constructive aspects,
its peaceful teachings and philanthropic
orientation.
